Helped People, Help People
Verde Villages is a 100% volunteer-run community resource hub providing free clothing, baby items, and support to Verde Valley families, one shared item at a time.
How It Works
01.
Community Donates
Families donate new and gently used baby, kids', maternity, and women's items they no longer need.
02.
Volunteers Sort & Organize
Our dedicated volunteers sort, clean, and organize donated items at our Cottonwood storefront.
03.
Families Shop for Free
Families visit our Community Closet, complete a quick check-in on their first visit, then browse and take what they need completely free.
04.
Build Community
Together, we save money, reduce waste, and create a stronger, more connected Verde Valley.
About Us
It Takes a Village to Raise a Child
In today's economy, raising a family can be overwhelming. From onesies that cost $20 each to strollers, cribs, and car seats, the costs add up fast. And closets across the Verde Valley are full of outgrown items just waiting for their next family. Verde Villages is where those two things meet. Our Community Closet at 901 S 12th Street in Cottonwood offers 100% free baby, kids', maternity, and women's items to any family who needs them. First-time visitors complete a short intake form and sign a quick agreement at the door. No income requirements. No judgment. Just neighbors taking care of neighbors. We are 100% volunteer-run, which means our hours vary based on volunteer availability. Check our calendar for current open days and times.

Our Values
01.
No Judgment
Verde Villages is for every family in the Verde Valley. Whether you're a single parent, a grandparent raising grandkids, or simply someone who believes in sustainable community living, you are welcome here. No income verification and no proof of residency required.
02.
Sustainability
Every item shared is one less item in a landfill. By passing quality goods from one family to the next, we reduce waste, stretch household budgets, and teach our children that things have value beyond the first owner.
03.
Community First
The strongest communities are built when neighbors actively look out for one another. Resource sharing isn't just good for families. It builds the kind of connected, resilient community that weathers hard times together.
03.
Transparency
We're here to serve families, and we're open about how we operate and where donations go.
Changing How We Think About Community
Verde Villages isn't just about sharing thingsāit's about changing perspectives. When you benefit from someone else's gently used items, you develop a greater sense of responsibility toward your own possessions. You ensure they remain in good condition so they can be shared with another family when your child outgrows them. We're reducing consumerism, teaching our children the importance of sharing, and fostering mutual support within our community. Because when we work together, we all thrive.

Visit Our Community Closet
Our storefront is designed to feel like you're shopping at a friend's house, not receiving charity. We have free coffee and tea, a play area for kids, and organized sections that make it easy to find what your family needs. All items are 100% free and available on a first come first served basis. We don't do holds or reservations. Whatever comes in goes right back out to the families who need it most, so we encourage you to check our calendar and come see us often because our inventory changes every day. First-time visitors complete a short intake form and sign a quick agreement, then grab a bag and start shopping.
